Sigrún Lára

Sigrún Lára Kjartansdóttir was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of cancer – Ewing’s Sarcoma – this spring, when she was only five months old. She’s a lovely, cheery little girl and she’s coping brilliantly, but her life is now extremely hard. She will need, in the best-case scenario, at least eight months of intensive chemotherapy, and she will frequently get ill with lots of trips to the hospital. In the long term, her prognosis is uncertain – only two children under the age of one are diagnosed each year in the UK – but the risk of relapse and further treatment is significant.
